The Alabama Council AlA is a non-profit professional trade association for architects residing and practicing in Alabama. Membership includes six chapter components: Birmingham, East Alabama, Mobile, Montgomery, North Alabama and Northeast Alabama...The primary goal of the Alabama Council AlA is to promote unity among the architectural profession in the state. From legislation to education, through communication and member services, the Council seeks to provide members representation, information and programs to ensure the progress of architecture in Alabama.
Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is the national professional association representing landscape architects. Beginning with 11 original members, ASLA has grown to more than 18,000 members and 48 chapters, representing all 50 states, U.S. territories, and 68 countries around the world. ASLA promotes the landscape architecture profession and advances the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship. (from website)
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857. AIA's goal is to serve as the voice of the architecture profession and the resource for its members in service to society.
