In Memoriam

This is the IN MEMORIAM master list for WEHS graduates between 1934 – year of the first graduating class – through 1959, the last year for which information is provided on this site.

With this list, we recognize Classmates who no longer walk the halls of West End with us, even in their hearts and minds. Some died while still very young, others in their prime. All died too soon. As we read the list, let’s think of them fondly, as they were, and hope that life allowed them many moments of joy and satisfaction.

Every student reported to be deceased is listed below, with their class designation and a link to that class’s IN MEMORIAM page. In a few instances, there is more than one class indicated. This occurs when a student is associated with more than one class. If the Class year is not linked, no page has yet been established for that year.

Names are provided as in the yearbooks, with nicknames indicated where known. Women, including those who subsequently married, are listed by their own family names, as this was the name by which classmates knew them while in school. Most of these students graduated with the WEHS class with which they are associated below. Some, however, are included because they spent much of their school career with the class, even though they may have graduated elsewhere.

You will notice that the captions sometimes include dates of death and sometimes do not. This is because a variety of individuals kept the lists for different purposes over the years, and the date of death was not always recorded. If you can provide year of death for any deceased individual for whom it is not now shown in the caption, please let us hear from you.
