Here’s what we remember about Miss Robertson

I remember Miss Robertson sending me to talk to the girl’s adviser when, after being asked to comment, I corrected one of her sentence constructions in front of the class. (She did subsequently admit that I was technically right, but said that wasn’t the point – which, of course, it wasn’t. My correction had evidently been a tad too enthusiastic.)

Even though we had our moments, I always thought she was a nice lady, who tried very hard to instill some literary culture into us.
