The library book store is located in the Central library.
Facilities
- Meeting Rooms
Birmingham Public Library provides meeting rooms for use by community groups and organizations for a nominal fee. Meeting rooms
are available at many of our branch locations.
Notary
- Notary service is provided at most BPL locations. Call your
location first to make sure notary
staff is available and if the type of document needed to be notorized can be
notorized by staff. Walk-in service is possible, but notary staff availability
is not guaranteed.

Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled
This service brings special format reading materials, playback equipment and
other library resources to qualifying users.

Book a Virtual Program: Youth and Teens
Schedule virtual programs for groups such as schools, daycares, and homeschoolers.
Program appointment dates are available Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Books-by-Mail
A unique service to
residents of Jefferson County, Alabama, who are unable to go to the public
library in person.
- BPL Mobile
The vehicle, called BPL Mobile, is far more than a traditional bookmobile. On BPL Mobile, patrons are able to take advantage of many services available in libraries across Birmingham such as
books, computers, free Wi-Fi, notarizing, faxing, printing, story times, STEM programs and more.
